Charity Art Auction to Support a Classroom Building Project in Tansania

Frankfurt a. M./Moshi, September 9, 2024. Africa and art lovers have the opportunity to take part in a special charity auction until the weekend. On the Instagram channel of the tourism initiative Voice4Africa (@voice4africa), three works of art by renowned Tanzanian artists will be auctioned to support the construction of a classroom in Moshi.

Proceeds from the auction will go entirely to the school building project, which is being implemented on site by Zara Charity Tanzania. The non-profit foundation is affiliated with the Tanzanian tour operator Zara Tours, which organizes trekking tours on Kilimanjaro, among other tours.

The school building project aims to improve educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Moshi at the foot of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. To support the progress of the construction, three works of art that reflect Tanzania’s cultural heritage will be auctioned.

All artworks were created by internationally recognized Tingatinga painters, including Hashim Bushir Mruta. They also feature renowned Makonde ebony carvers like Samaki Likanguo, who developed the Shetani style in the 1950s. These pieces come from the Tanzanian Fine Art collection and are offered for a worthy cause.

In addition to the auction, there is the opportunity to support the school building project through direct donations.
